Elon Musk taunts Bernie Sanders on Twitter

Maybe Elon took it a little too far this time?

The Tesla CEO, fresh off a social media scuffle with the infamous investor Michael Burry, is now firing shots at former Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

After Sanders posted a tweet suggesting that the “extremely wealthy pay their fair share”, Musk was quick to fire back, possibly taking offence to the Vermont senator’s remarks.

“I keep forgetting that you’re still alive”, said Musk, referring to Sanders’ age.

As of September, Sanders officially became an octogenarian, but it hasn’t stopped him from getting his point across in the US political sphere.

Musk continued: “Want me to sell more stock, Bernie? Just say the word …”

The Tesla CEO could be alluding to the expected selling of additional Tesla stock as part of a Twitter poll he conducted a week ago, or maybe he wants an excuse to sell even more?

Musk has been putting his foot to the gas pedal on Twitter lately, with recent comments including his proposal of setting up a Texas Institute of Technology & Science, which of course abbreviates to “TITS”, as well as asking another US senator why his profile picture “looks like you just came”.

There is probably a lot going on in the mind of the world’s richest man, and Twitter appears to be a place for him to vent, whether by telling harmless jokes or making comments with a bit more vim.

Tesla shareholders may have reasons to be concerned though, as his remarks have caused them to lose some of their wealth over the past few days.
